Christophe Beck is a world-renowned film and TV composer who has defined the sound of iconic action epics, comedies, and dramas, and whose soundtracks to Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning IP have achieved platinum status, sold millions of copies, and reigned No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. Beck is equally at home with high-profile blockbusters like Marvel’s Paul Rudd led Ant Man trilogy, and with powerful dramas like Davis Guggenheim’s Waiting for Superman or Shana Feste’s Endless Love, as he is with the touching – and Oscar Winning – Disney short Paper Man. Beck is likewise unforgettable as the composer of mega-hit studio franchises Frozen 1 + 2, and The Hangover trilogy.
His collaboration with director Doug Liman resulted in four acclaimed action features: Edge of Tomorrow and American Made both starring Tom Cruise, Amazon Prime’s Roadhouse, and The Instigators starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Beck’s body of work includes distinguished narratives such as McG’s We Are Marshall, Under the Tuscan Sun starring Diane Lane, The 12th Man, the Good Kill starring Ethan Hawke, and the indie feature Saved! starring Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, and Macaulay Culkin. Chris Beck’s ongoing work with director Daniel Barnz yielded two indie dramas as well: Phoebe in Wonderland and Cake starring Jennifer Anniston. Beck’s music extends further into award winning documentary films such as Red Army and the Netflix produced docuseries Arnold. He’s crafted deep sonic worlds for fantasy adventures Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief, and the Oscar-nominated animated Netflix feature Nimona, among many others. Beck is also unforgettable as the composer of the mega-hit studio franchise The Hangover. Most recently, Beck wrote music for Amazon MGM’s action comedy The Sheep Detectives starring Bryan Cranston and Hugh Jackman.
The Canadian composer studied music at Yale and attended the USC film scoring program under the tutelage of composers such as Jerry Goldsmith. He started composing in television at the personal recommendation of Disney music legend Buddy Baker.
